Defending NASCAR AutoZone Elite Division, Northwest Series champion Jeff Jefferson took the lead during lap 54 from Garrett Evans and went on to victory in the Magic Metals 125 at Yakima (Wash.) Speedway. It was the second win of the season for the native of Naches, Wash. and the 12th of his Northwest Series career.
Jefferson battled with Pete Harding for the better part of the night before prevailing. Harding followed up his win in the last time out for the series with a second-place finish.

Garrett Evans overcame a blown motor earlier in the day in practice to finish third. Brandon Riehl finished fourth followed by Wilbur Bruce in fifth.

Jeff Bailey, Travis Bennett, Gary Lewis, Jeff Barkshire and John Dillon rounded out the top 10.

Troy Tramell won his first career Bud Pole Award with a time of 19.056 seconds (94.458 mph) around the 1/2-mile oval.

The Northwest Series is back on the track on August 13 at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, Wash.
