Introducing Jeff Jefferson
2003,2004 & 2005 AutoZone Elite Division Champion
Jeff Jefferson
is a thirty four year old professional race car driver. Jeff also
owns Jefferson Motorsports, a company that prepare winning race
cars, in addition to consulting for west coast race teams.
His
focal point in life centers on stock car racing. Whether it be
driving race cars, building them or consulting, every day is
consumed with some aspect of the sport. Jeff cam be found at the
race track or in the shop fifteen hours a day.
It did not
take long for Jeff to get hooked on racing as his father, George
Jefferson, was a prominent team owner in the Grand National West
Series in the 1980's. By the age of six he was hanging out around
his fathers shop. That quickly evolved into assisting his father
building and setting up cars for the likes of Harry Jefferson, Don
Dowdy, Derrick Cope, Chad Little, Bill Elliot, Dirk Stevens and Tim
Richmond. That training and experience has served Jeff well. He
understands the details of what it takes to produce a winning
combination of driver, chassis and team chemistry.
Jeff currently handles the
driving duties for owner Jim Morgan and the Marketing
partner LeMay Museum (America's Car Museum) in the AutoZone Elite
Division Northwest Series.
He is the
Three time series champion of the Northwest Series as well as a five
straight time Bud Pole Award Winner.
Jeff etched
his mark in NASCAR Grand National West history on only his
seventh career start in the series. On July 4th 2000, Jeff won the
NAPA Auto Parts 200 which was the last race on the pavement for the
historic Portland Speedway, home track of the renowned Hershel
McGriff and current Nextel Cup driver Greg Biffle.
While racing
full time Jeff still found it important to finish his education.
Jeff graduated from Naches Valley High School, where he was a four
year scholar athlete in both football and baseball. Jeff earned all
state honors in both sports. Excelling in academics and sports
earned Jeff a scholarship to Columbia Basin Junior College where he
completed his Associate Arts degree. Continuing both his education
and athletic career, he completes his Bachelor of Science degree in
1995 at Washington State University. |
