July 11, 2012 (Wenatchee, WA) – It’s not often that a series must
wait until mid-July to run it’s second event of the season, but for
the WESCO Cast Iron Sprint Car series that is exactly the case, making a
return trip to the Wenatchee Valley Super Oval (WVSO) Saturday night,
July 14th.
The only event to be completed so far on the season was June 2nd
at WVSO with the appropriately named, Rich Fast, setting fast time
during qualifications. The main event saw a fast paced race run caution
free, concluding with defending series Champion, Doug Mclees, parking
the Mclees Automotive #3D in victory lane.
The June 30th event was lined up to be run at Stateline
Speedway in Post Falls, Idaho, and the field of twelve got qualifying
and trophy dashes in before the skies opened up, ultimately canceling
the event. Before the rains, Cody Stewart from Puyallup , WA , driving
the Deaver Racing entry set fast time, with the very experienced Glen
Walker winning the B-dash and Tony Berry , in the B&B Motorsports
machine picking up the win in the A-dash.
This Saturday night is shaping up to be a terrific battle, with MUCH
drier weather than the series experienced at Stateline, with
temperatures anticipated being in the mid 90’s |
