Spokane, Washington - The day before the Indianapolis 500, HEI Motorsports
will run the same type of open-wheel cars that were made famous by many of
the Indy 500 starters. This Saturday night, May 28th, HEI Motorsports will
be at the Stateline Speedway in Post Falls, Idaho running with the Sprint
Cars and the Washington Midget Racing Association (WMRA).
Second generation driver, Wes Helgeson of Spanaway, WA will be on-hand
running his black #23 sprinter. Helgeson, the 2004 Rookie of the Year in the
sprint car series is excited about the upcoming weekend, “The sprint cars
are always a crowd favorite and I think combining them with the midgets will
showcase what open-wheel cars are all about for the great fans at Stateline
Speedway. We are also very excited about having Airstream of Spokane on the
side of the car for this big event, and look forward to a relationship in
the future with an organization that is as professional as we strive to be.”
2005 Rookie of the Year contender, Tony Berry heads into the weekend with
momentum on his side. Winner of the first two events of the season, Berry
anticipates another good outing. “It is a good feeling to know that each
time you show up at the track you can contend for the win. The HEI
Motorsports team has put together another great package for me and hopefully
we can continue our success.”
Berry will be very busy this weekend as he has partnered with Tony Villelli
Racing to run the Budweiser and Pepsi sponsored #36 midget racecar with the
Washington Midget Racing Association. This will be Berry’s debut in a midget
style racecar, something he has wanted to do since he was a young child. “I
appreciate the opportunity that Tony Villelli has given me. He has a big
weekend with his radio show the Speed Sport Report on 970 AM The Fan, with
the Indy 500 being on Sunday. He had sponsor commitments and thought that we
could represent them and his team well. It is a terrific vote of confidence
in me and I hope to capitalize in his great car this weekend.”
HEI is proud to announce new advertising relationships with Sallee Chevrolet
in Milton Freewater, Oregon, JOE’s Racing Products and Airstream of Spokane.
“These great companies reflect what we work so hard to do here at HEI,”
commented Dixon Helgeson, owner of HEI Motorsports. “Having these
organizations join our marketing program is exciting and we will represent
them well this weekend.”
Come watch the open-wheel action this weekend at Stateline Speedway in Post
Falls, Idaho and cheer on the HEI Motorsports sprint car team and the Tony
Villelli Racing midget team.
