SPOKANE
– The Mission Foods Inland Northwest Sprint Car Association’s
Winged Sprints take to the track at Stateline Speedway on Saturday
for the fifth race of the season.
And
at this midpoint of the season consistency and not race wins have
paid off for the current points leader. Tony Berry of Spokane leads
the points despite having not scored a race win this season,“
We’ve run well at times and know that our car package is capable
of going fast, but have been plagued with issues,” according to
Berry. “We had an opportunity to pick up a win last week, but
faltered when the handling went away.”
“We’re
getting closer to putting together the complete package every week
and continue to make improvements on the car,” Berry reported.
“The competition is tough in this division, but I really feel that
we will be able to get at least one win before the season is
over.”
The
series will see the return of the cars of Kevin Burck and Rod Nelson
that got pretty well mangled in a crash in their last outing on July
14th where Wes Helgeson scored his first win.
Time
trials start at 6 p.m. Racing also features Northwest Legends and
Street Stocks
