Late Model Challenge Series Returns to Stateline

RENO, NV   Officials with Stateline Speedway in Post Falls, Idaho and the Late Model Challenge Series announced Friday morning the return of the growing late model series to the facility in 2007. The show will be held in conjunction with the 2007 Idaho 200 August 3-5, 2007.
The series, which has been on the Stateline Speedway schedule for over the past
five seasons, will return for a one night only appearance Saturday August 4,
2007, the Saturday night leading up to the Idaho 200.
"We are repeatedly focused on bringing entertaining shows to the track that benefits both drivers and fans," Stateline Speedway Promoter Joe Doellefeld said. "The Late Model Challenge Series is an interregnal part of that plan and we are pleased to have them back for the Idaho 200 weekend."

The 2007 Idaho 200 will feature two 100-lap Duel for the 200 races. The Inland Northwest Super Stock Series will be the headlining race Friday night with the Late Model Challenge Series headlining the Saturday night Duel for the 200. The 8th annual Idaho 200 will run Sunday afternoon.

Officials also detailed plans for 2008.

Series promoter Jerry Losch said Stateline Speedway has been a strong supporter of the series for many years and it was essential to continue the relationship for both competitors and fans."It's important for our series to make an appearance in the Inland Northwest market to continue our growth," Losch added.
Late Model Challenge Series features a combination of regional late model drivers from Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Montana and Western Canada in local competition against local track superstars.
A cost efficient rule aggregate allows different versions of late models to compete with each other with minor modifications.
In 2006 local driver Kevin Richards of Newman Lake, Wash. claimed a series win. Mike Zamora of Kennewick, Wash. won his second straight Duel for the 200 race in August.
